Tea, Treats and Tours was the Housing and Residence Life’s marketing initiative designed to open the doors of on-campus housing to the UCF community.

UCF Faculty and staff met at Brooklyn Pizza to enjoy some fresh cannoli and iced tea before a Housing ambassador led a tour of the traditional suite-style residence halls in the Libra and Apollo communities. Over 50 visitors came through the tours in the two-hour window.

Marissa Gerasci, UCF Housing ambassador noted that many of the visitors “were surprised by the size of the rooms and many didn’t know about the amenities provided by our Residence Life staff.”

Jimmy Moore, assistant director for marketing, envisioned the event as a way to create new partnerships while reinforcing existing ones. Living Learning Communities and partnerships, such as the out-of-state student community, nursing at Nike and hospitality at Rosen, were highlighted in an effort to illustrate Housing’s commitment to the academic mission of the university.

“I want to make sure that our UCF colleagues know that Housing is more than just a place for our students to rest their heads;  our communities are an integral part of the complete UCF experience,” said Moore.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is in the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services.
