Close to 1,000 fans invaded The Venue Saturday night for the first edition of UCF Baseball Fan Fest. And along with autographs and a copy of the 2010 UCF baseball poster, several Knights supporters also walked away with some amazing prizes.

“This was an incredible event, and we have so many people to thank for this,” said second-year head coach Terry Rooney. “Our first Baseball Fan Fest was a tremendous success, we had approximately 1,000 people here after the men’s basketball game. It was an awesome night, and a great way to kick off the season.”

With the 2010 season approaching, it was clear that UCF fans are anxious for Opening Day on Feb. 19. Last year alone, the Knights set an average attendance record with 1,088 fans per game. And with the No. 4 recruiting class in the nation joining an already impressive group of returners, this year’s squad should spark even more excitement.

Rooney announced during the festivities a new feature coming to the baseball stadium this season. UCF Athletics has partnered with Jack Jennings & Sons Construction to provide a 77 foot long wood deck to be located beyond the outfield fence in right field. Details of how fans can reserve their space in this area will be announced shortly.

Season tickets the 2010 campaign are already on sale. The Knights will play 36 games at home this year and reserved chairbacks are just $199, while reserved bleacher seats are only $150. Faculty/staff, youth and senior season tickets are $99. To purchase tickets, call 407-823-1000 or visit UCFAthletics.com.
