This image of an Amur leopard was taken at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens in Sanford while Nick Leyva of the UCF Photography Club was on a recent “photo walk” with other club members. Leyva said that as he reached the leopard exhibit, the animal was giving him some great expressions. In the wild, the endangered species is found on the border of Russia and China. Shooting at a low aperture through a black fence gives the bordering out-of-focus area known as bokeh. This photo was chosen as the Officer’s Choice for September in the UCF Photography Club’s monthly contest.
