A variety of efforts to promote healthier lifestyles for students, faculty and staff has earned the University of Central Florida recognition as a Start! Fit Friendly Company from the American Heart Association. The Start! Fit Friendly Companies program recognizes employers who champion the health of their employees by creating physical programs within the workplace and is meant to encourage other companies to follow suit.
UCF’s many services and programs include gymnasiums accommodating students, faculty and staff; nature trails; and a consistent offering of healthier food choices at dining halls.
Because of UCF’s recognition, university employees can access “Fit Friendly” resources such as the My Start! Online fitness tracker.
