The campus sirens that are part of the University of Central Florida’s mass notification system will be tested during a routine annual inspection scheduled for Monday, Dec. 23.
Seven sirens located throughout campus will sound individually as part of the inspection. The sirens will produce a tone followed by a voice message that indicates the alert is part of a test and not an actual emergency.
Each siren will sound for up to five minutes so that inspectors can verify that the system is working correctly.
Inspections are scheduled to begin in the morning and end before 5 p.m.
