David Kappos, the under secretary of commerce for intellectual property and director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, met with members of UCF’s Office of Research & Commercialization following a meeting at UCF’s Institute for Simulation and Training. The White House Business Council, the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission and UCF sponsored the “Winning the Future through Innovation” roundtable meeting to determine how the Administration can assist with growth and job creation. Following the meeting Kappos met with John Miner, senior licensing associate for the Office of Technology Transfer, Tom O’Neal, associate vice president for research & commercialization and Svetlana Shtrom, director of technology transfer and the Venture Lab.
