Earlier this month, Orange County Public School’s Academic Center for Excellence community school opened in Parramore across the street from UCF Downtown. UCF is proud to be a lead partner in the ACE school, which incorporates before- and after-school enrichment programs and resources for parents, as well as on-site medical and dental services for students, their families and the community.

This is not the first community school where UCF has provided support for teaching and curriculum, in addition to aiding the school’s operational strategies. UCF’s community school model was recently lauded in The Wall Street Journal for helping teens in the Pine Hills neighborhood, increasing enrollment by 17 percent at nearby Evans High School and raising graduation rates from 64 percent to 88 percent.
