Dr. Kemper Lewis has served as Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo since 2020 and is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Under his leadership, the school has experienced record growth in research and enrollment, driven by strategic initiatives in academic excellence, student success, faculty development, and emerging areas such as autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence.

He currently serves on the national Executive Board of the Engineering Deans Council and is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Lewis earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
