Veterans who are seeking employment now have two opportunities to meet with employers at UCF events geared specifically for them.
On Thursday, February 7 Hiring Our Heroes comes to the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is hosted by RecruitMilitary, a veteran-owned firm dedicated to helping veterans achieve their dreams: education, veteran jobs and civilian careers, new business and franchise ownership, training, and much more. Over the last year, they have partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on 67 “Hiring Our Heroes” job fairs held across the country, and they’ve been connecting veterans with employers since 1998.
The other event is the previously announced Central Florida Veterans Job Fair on Friday, February 22. Hosted by the UCF College of Business Administration and OrlandoJobs.com, the event will take place at the Venue (old UCF Arena) from 10-3. Both events are FREE for job seekers!
“This is great news for veteran job seekers in Central Florida and just reiterates UCF’s commitment to our military community,” said Lonny Butcher, director of UCFs College of Business Office for Career Connections. “We were already working with OrlandoJobs, to offer an event that would help folks connect to employers and raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Now we have another employment event to offer. Both will have great employers who are looking to specifically hire veteran job seekers.”
