Are you a business or engineering student interested in pursuing a career in technical sales? If so, you may want to join the UCF Chapter of the Society of Sales Engineers (SSE). The group encourages students to explore career opportunities though in-depth interactions between peers, faculty members and representatives from local, regional and multi-national engineering firms. More than 25 people attended the inaugural meeting, which featured Pete Edmonds, vice president of Sales-Americas, FARO Technologies, Inc. as the main speaker. Edmonds outlined the strong demand by many technical employers for current engineering graduates who have completed university courses in professional sales management. SSE faculty advisor is Karl Sooder, instructor in the Department of Marketing. The student president is Jessica Lehrer, who majors in mechanical engineering and minors in marketing. The group plans to meet bi-monthly beginning in the spring semester.
