With resumes in hand and dressed for success, students had the opportunity to talk to potential employers at the Spring 2012 Career Expo.

The Career Expo, held on January 31, was especially valuable to students and alumni seeking full-time, professional positions because it provided the opportunity to meet with recruiting employers face-to-face. Students and alumni were able to discuss job search tips, distribute resumes, network and interview onsite.

Students who attended the ExpoMania earlier in the month were well prepared to connect with employers at the Career Expo. At that event, Career Services staff reviewed students’ resumes and assisted students to prepare a one minute “infomercial”−a concise personal introduction that included professional goals, qualifications and accomplishments.

The Spring 2012 Career Expo, held in the UCF Arena, was a success with over 1,900 students and over 180 corporations in attendance. This is a 50 percent increase in students and 18 percent increase in employers from last spring.

Employers were overwhelmingly positive in recalling their interaction with UCF students and staff making special mention of the overall professionalism, hospitality, turnout and efficiency of the Career Expo.

The expo is hosted by Career Services, an office in the Division of Student Development and Enrollment Services.
