Raj Patel, a global food policy expert, author and activist, will speak Thursday, March 4, at the University of Central Florida.

Patel will give a presentation entitled “Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System” at 3 p.m. in the Key West Ballroom of the Student Union. The event, organized by the UCF Global Perspectives Office, is free and open to the public.

Patel, a sometimes controversial and often outspoken critic of the current structure of the global food system, has worked for some of the world’s most prominent international organizations and protested against many of their policies, seeking to find ways to improve global food distribution.
