OXFORD, Miss. — After picking up a win in game one Friday night, the UCF baseball team split Saturday’s doubleheader against No. 1 Ole Miss to clinch the series victory over the top-ranked program.

UCF’s 3-2 win in the first game Friday marked the third time in school history the Knights have knocked off the No. 1 ranked team in the country. UCF’s victory also handed the No. 1 Rebels, who had held a 4-0 record, their first loss of 2021 and snapped a program record 20-game win streak.

Although UCF dropped the second game, 6-5, the Knights rebounded in a big way in the final matchup Saturday with a 7-2 win.

UCF now holds a 9-3 record against opponents from the Southeastern Conference since 2018. After Saturday’s win, UCF improved to 4-1 against the No. 1 ranked team in the country since 2018.
