A freshman All-American in 2009, Taylor continued his impressive play to start 2010. The backstop was 8-for-12 at the dish vs. the Tigers with five runs, five RBI, two homers, 14 total bases, one sacrifice bunt and threw out two runners on the bases.

On opening day, Taylor finished 2-for-3 with one RBI as the cleanup man in the lineup in a 7-2 win, then set career-highs with five hits and four runs the next day. In that 14-4 triumph, he also collected three RBI and one homer. And in the series finale, Taylor sparked the UCF offense to a late rally, tying it at 6-6 with two outs in the eighth thanks to a solo shot over the right-field wall. The Knights would go on to score two more runs in the frame for the 8-6 victory.

Taylor and the Knights will now look ahead to Wednesday where they travel to Gainesville to take on No. 5 Florida (3-0) at 6:30 p.m.
