The UCF cheer team recorded its 23rd finish in the top five at the UCA National Championships Sunday evening, taking fifth place in Division 1A competition at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The team earned a raw score of 94.2 and an event score of 87.7.
The dance team, which reached the finals in the hip hop division for the first time since 2014, placed seventh for its best all-time finish in the category.The team earned a raw score of 102.3 and an event score of 88.9.

UCF has won three national championships in the Division 1A Cheer competition, most recently in 2020. The program also brought home the top prize in the Gameday Nationals Competition in 2019.
