Students enrolled in the Professional Selling Program, a program in the College of Business Administration’s Department of Marketing, will benefit from a $50,000 gift from banking industry leader Wells Fargo.

The gift will be divided into three increments: $40,000 will be designated for several student scholarships that will be awarded during the 2012 academic year; $5,000 will go toward corporate sponsorship of the sales program, and the remaining $5,000 will be used for students to travel to the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) in Georgia.

NCSC attracts top collegiate sales students from the most elite programs in North America and provides a venue for them to sharpen their sales skills in a highly competitive environment. Inaugurated in 1999, the NCSC is the largest and oldest sales role-play competition in existence. The UCF team has consistently scored in the top percentage of the competition each year.

Wells Fargo selected to support the Professional Selling Program because they are committed to assisting programs that:

  • Promote academic achievement for low to moderate income students
  • Advance teaching through professional development and support
  • Facilitate merit-based access to higher education for underrepresented groups
  • The Professional Selling Program is a highly selective program that is limited to 35 students each year. It is one of only approximately 50 specialized sales undergraduate programs in the nation.
