As the snow fell to the ground, students had the opportunity to relax before finals at the end-of-the-semester program, “Winterfest,” held at Rosen College of Hospitality Management.

Students enjoyed a winter fashion show (clothes borrowed from Dillards in Oviedo) with UCF’s very own Miss UCF Sara York as the emcee. Students modeled as well as Rosen’s faculty members, James Hogg and Brian Avery. Radio station 102 Jamz provided a live DJ and PhotoMingle provided an interactive photo activity.

Students enjoyed free winter-themed food and drinks such as hot cocoa, cider, snow cones and cookies. Student Life provided an artist to draw caricatures, silhouette holiday decorations, winter themed names, and an opportunity to showcase their dancing skills while playing “Dance Central” by Xbox.

A Children’s Miracle Network family told their story to event attendees. Students donated a total of $708 for Knight-thon in lieu of Children’s Miracle Network and got to participate in the drawing full of donated prizes, including the grand prize of a 5-night stay at the Westin Aruba Resort. Knight-thon raises money all year for the Children’s Miracle Network. Knight-thon’s dance marathon is February 26, 2011.

The Rosen College Event Management II class, Student Life department, and Student Government Association sponsored the Winterfest program.
