Theme park engineers come from civil, mechanical, electrical and software engineering backgrounds, plus design and show-production paths. The field rewards engineers who can move between technical and creative teams. UCF graduates in the field include the project manager who led Disney’s Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, the founder of a company whose safety systems run in every Disney and Universal park and the Universal Creative VP who chairs the IAAPA Safety Commission.
