The Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida recently hosted members of the Universal Foundation’s Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida, as part of Visit Orlando’s 2012 Discover Tourism Day Career Exploration program. The program provides an opportunity for today’s youth to gain interest and insight into possible career opportunities in the travel and tourism industry.
The Discover Tourism Day Career Exploration program incorporates field trips and behind the scenes tours to Orlando’s tourism venues, to educate, inform, and inspire today’s youth about careers in the travel & tourism industry.
During their visit to UCF’s Rosen College, 17 members of the Boys and Girls Club met with representatives in admissions, advising, financial aid, housing, student life and career services to discuss academic programs and future enrollment opportunities.
Their visit also included a campus tour, question-and-answer session, a table-top design competition, and lunch in the college’s Disney Dining Room.
Visit Orlando’s Discover Tourism Day Career Exploration program also visited local hotels, attractions, and the Orlando International Airport.
