UCF Health Services hosted the State University System Directors’ meeting on December 10, to discuss health-related administrative challenges facing higher education.

Topics included health care reform, student health insurance, staff salaries, UCF’s Healthy Knights 2020 initiative, tuberculosis control, clinicians and prevention, and electronic health records.

Additionally, discussion was held about the support system for students with chronic medical conditions, such as Diabetes. Similar to UCF’s Type 1 group, Students with Diabetes is a model support and education group suitable for universities across the country.

The meeting was successful and well-attended by administrators from Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida International University, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, University of North Florida, University of West Florida, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, New College of Florida, and the University of Florida.
