Rosen College Student Outreach Services (SOS Rosen) and SGA’s Rosen Street Team recently participated in the 2011 UCF Homecoming Parade.
The event, held Saturday, Oct. 29th, proved successful, despite inclement weather. Grey skies didn’t stop the Rosen students from enjoying a sunny, tropical “Pineapple Express” themed float. In addition to ponchos, the students wore leis and donned paper umbrellas and, of course, customary hospitable smiles.
The pineapple is the symbol of the hospitality industry. Since colonial times, the pineapple has been associated with warmth and friendliness and was often used as the “crowning” piece in large displays of food.
