Modern rides depend on dedicated life-safety hardware and software, built and certified to standards developed by ASTM F24, the international committee that governs amusement-ride safety. The control systems monitor each ride continuously and shut it down if anything reads out of range. The industry’s largest safety body, the IAAPA Safety Commission, is chaired by Chris Oliver, a UCF MBA and Universal Creative’s Vice President of Engineering and Safety.
