BIOGRAPHY:
Ahmed is a graduate of Alexandria University, Egypt, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering with a focus on robotics, autonomous drones, and AI-based sensing. He later joined the University of Central Florida to pursue a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Smart Cities track) and now works in the RISE Lab, applying remote sensing, UAV technologies, and computer vision to real-world infrastructure projects.

RESEARCH:
His research focuses on advancing UAV-based monitoring and inspection for civil infrastructure. In the RISE Lab, he works with LiDAR, photogrammetry, and UAV-enabled environmental sensing, with a particular interest in autonomous inspection, real-time data collection, and long-term structural assessment. He is also exploring drone swarm coordination to enable cooperative navigation, multi-angle imaging, and more efficient inspection of critical components.
