She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.

RESEARCH:

Laura’s research focuses on stormwater management, specifically simulating and predicting water flow and nutrient leaching in native Florida sandy soils under various hydrologic scenarios. She has also worked on living shoreline prioritization and hydrodynamic habitat suitability modeling to support restoration efforts in the Indian River Lagoon and Lake Worth Lagoon, Florida, using GIS tools. As a member of the UCF Ecohydraulics Lab, she has contributed to a range of coastal and estuarine research projects involving seagrass ecosystems, hydrodynamics, habitat restoration, and sediment transport.
