BIOGRAPHY:
Namritha Ramakrishnan joined the Kibler Ecohydraulics Lab at UCF as an undergraduate researcher in 2022. Upon graduating with a bachelor’s in environmental engineering, she joined the lab as a graduate research assistant in 2024 and is working towards her master’s degree in civil engineering – water resources.

RESEARCH:
Namritha’s research focuses on flow-vegetation interaction, sediment transport, and hydrodynamics within and surrounding aquatic vegetation, with applications is sustainable shoreline protection and climate adaptation. She combines field-based hydrodynamic measurements (waves, velocity, turbidity) with lab-based sediment texture analysis. Broadly, she is interested in nature-based infrastructure to combat effects of erosion and the role of engineering in supporting resilient natural.
