Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation
If you’ve ever wanted to get fit but were worried about fitting in—worry no more. The UCF Recreation and Wellness Center is one of the nation’s leading campus recreation departments for creating space for students of all abilities to play, work out and compete against each other. At the RWC, we value the opportunity to provide quality programs and services that are accessible to the entire UCF community.
UCF’s Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation program provides students access to adaptive equipment, inclusive tournaments and supportive events across campus. No matter your ability, we can connect you to similar students through fun, innovative and unique programs.
Activities are similar to many popular Paralympic competitions, with year-round activities including adaptive climbing, adaptive kayaking, inclusive intramural sports tournaments and unified sports, which are programs that unite individuals with and without intellectual disabilities.
Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation gives every Knight the opportunity to reach healthy lifestyle goals. Getting to create lasting and impactful memories at the same time is simply a bonus.
The RWC partners with UCF students enrolled in the Doctorate in Physical Therapy program to provide assisted workouts. All Student Assisted Workout Trainers work in consultation with UCF Physical Therapy Faculty members. This program is designed to support students with disabilities in creating and maintaining an exercise plan.
