Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Studies show that everyone—yes, everyone—can benefit from therapy and counseling. Whether you’re experiencing short-term stress or long-term challenges, it’s important to talk about your feelings and take care of your mental health. That’s why UCF Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, provides comprehensive psychological services to our students free of charge.
We seek to strengthen student learning by minimizing interruption of the learning caused by mental health concerns, assisting with the academic skills needed to successfully matriculate through the university. In addition, we offer crisis intervention, and counseling, presentation services, professional consultation, and graduate training. Our staff is comprised of licensed (or license-eligible) psychologists and mental health counselors, and graduate interns who provide a confidential environment in which you may explore and resolve issues of concern.
It is our vision to be of significant value to the UCF community and to be nationally recognized as a leader among Counseling and Psychological Services Centers, providing helping resources of the highest quality to enhance students’ progress toward the fulfillment of their personal development and the completion of their education. We strive to expand our roles as helping professionals by being proactive and responsive to the changing needs of the growing and diversifying student population, and to continue developing our services and training programs which meet standards of excellence in our profession.
