Biography
Matt Dombrowski, MFA, is a professor of emerging media at the University of Central Florida and a nationally recognized expert in interdisciplinary design, creative technology, and visual storytelling. As assistant director of the School of Visual Arts and Design and creative director of the nonprofit Limbitless Solutions, he leads cross-functional teams developing expressive 3D-printed bionic limbs, interactive training video games, and accessible digital experiences that empower children with limb differences.
His research bridges the visual arts, healthcare, and emerging media technologies, with a focus on multidisciplinary innovation and digital accessibility. His creative work has been featured by Adobe, Unity, Autodesk, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, GDC, SXSW EDU, and the Gates Foundation. His collaborations span multiple industries, including partnerships with Epic Games, AAA game studios, and major medical institutions through national clinical trials.
A four-time recipient of the CAH Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and a winner of UCF’s highest honors for teaching and online education, Dombrowski is passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists and designers. His projects have received funding from the National Science Foundation, Unity for Humanity, the U.S. Department of State, and the Epic MegaGrant program.
