Biography
Shannon Rae Lindsey holds an MFA in Studio Art from the University of South Carolina and a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of South Florida. She is an interdisciplinary artist whose work includes installation, sculpture, and drawing. Her art explores order and disorder using construction materials in unconventional contexts.
As an Associate Lecturer and Director of the UCF Art Gallery, Lindsey integrates her roles as an educator, artist, and curator. She has had 13 solo exhibitions and over 35 group exhibitions. She was awarded the 2023 Teaching Incentive Program Award for excellence in teaching and service at UCF.
Lindsey also serves as Vice President of Finance for Foundations in Art: Theory and Education, a nonprofit dedicated to college-level art education. In 2024, she curated the South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellows exhibition, which is currently traveling across the U.S.
