Course Requirements

In order to earn your Teacher Education MAT in Art Education, you’ll need to complete 37 credit hours of study beyond the bachelor’s degree.

Number of Core Classes

You’ll need to complete 12 credit hours of core courses. In addition to your core courses, you’ll need to take 16 credit hours of specialization electives.

Internship

This program requires 6 credit hours of a practical education internship.

Courses You’ll Take Include

This course teaches you how to organize, design and analyze art learning for students K-12.

Examine concepts, principles, and methods of integrating art processes into the education of the physically, emotionally and mentally handicapped.


Teaching Art Appreciation with Interdisciplinary Strategies

Explore art appreciation examples and concepts toward planning curriculum geared towards an interdisciplinary study of art history, criticism and aesthetics.
