Biography

Dr. Michelle Kelley is a Professor of Reading in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She joined the faculty in 2004 and serves as the Reading Education Program Coordinator. Her research focuses on metacognition and pre-service teacher knowledge related to reading assessment and instruction. Her work has been published in The Reading Teacher, Reading Horizons, The Reading Professor, Voices From the Middle, among others. She has published four teacher resources with the International Literacy Association and Capstone Publishers and authored several chapters. She is active in many literacy professional organizations and regularly presents at international, national, and state conferences. From 2011-2018, she was Co-Editor of Literacy Research and Instruction. She is the founder and co-director of the UCF Reading Clinic and is the Director of PedsAcademy®, a partnership with Nemours Children’s Hospital to educate children with critical illnesses.
