UCF is proud to be an inclusive community that values diversity in its many forms. Leading the way is Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Questioning/Queer (LGBTQ+) Services, which serves to connect our diverse student population to opportunities, resources and each other to achieve the vision of a stronger, healthier and more equitable world for LGBTQ+ people and their allies.
LGBTQ+ Services strives to support our community by fostering greater opportunities for students to succeed at UCF, organizing programs and experiences geared toward educating the UCF community, creating a forum where LGBTQ+ history and culture are acknowledged and celebrated, and creating a space where resources can be created and explored in the future.
LGBTQ+ strives to support the community by:
– Fostering greater opportunities for students to succeed at UCF.
– Help organize programs and experiences geared toward educating the UCF community.
– Creating a forum where LGBTQ+ history and culture is acknowledged and celebrated.
– Creating a space where resources can be created and explored in the future.
LGBTQ+ Services is a resource office for LGBTQ+ students, allies, and anyone interested in LGBTQ+ issues. We are an entry point for anyone looking for resources relating to sexual orientation or gender identity. Community Support Services will work to bridge LGBTQ+ resources that currently exist on the UCF Campus and in the surrounding City-State to bring that knowledge to the UCF community. LGBTQ+ Services’ grand opening was celebrated on October 11, 2011 which was also National Coming Out Day.
The Safe Zone series is designed for students who have an interest in learning more about and becoming an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. It is delivered in several parts, including: LGBTQ+ 101, Safe Zone Advocate Training, Coming Out Workshop, and the Gender and Orientation Language Diversity Workshop.
