Project BEST is a federal TRiO Student Support Services Grant (SSS).
The goal of the grant is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and help students make the transition from one level of higher education to the next. The SSS grant provides opportunities for academic development and serves to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. Project BEST addresses the academic and social needs of 140 first-generation in college, have a documented disability, or demonstrate financial need who are pursuing any major. All scholars have an opportunity to participate in academic advising, tutoring and mentoring and cultural events. BEST is an acronym that means Building Exemplary Scholars for Tomorrow.
