First-generation college students, low-income students and students who have a documented disability can take advantage of the TRiO Center, which provides help to students who are transitioning from one level of higher education to the next.
Backed by a mission of increasing college retention and graduation rates, the TRiO Center helps empower and support participants in achieving their goals by providing academic coaching, advising and mentoring.
Peer mentors connect students with key services and resources, and provide motivation when it’s needed. They regularly communicate with students and provide leadership during TRiO Center activities. And they support students all semester long — whether students need help with job opportunities, study skills or ways to get more involved at UCF.
