University Writing Center (UWC)

University Writing Center (UWC)

Whenever you find yourself suffering from writer’s block or you’re unsure of what the best way to word something is, head to the University Writing Center.

From UCF students to faculty and staff, to other community members — all are welcome to attend.

UWC consultations are free and can be done individually or in small groups. Whether you’re working on a research paper, scholarly writing, a resume or cover letter, a grad school or scholarship application, a presentation, creative writing or anything else, our tutors can help you. It doesn’t matter if all you have is an idea, you’re halfway through and don’t know where to go next, or you want to get an extra set of eyes on your paper.

Also called consultants, the UWC tutors are UCF graduate and undergraduate students who have taken our comprehensive three-credit Theory & Practice of Tutoring Writing course and participate in ongoing professional development throughout their time at the UWC.

UWC does consultations both in person and online, to accommodate students with busy schedules and those who live far from campus.
