YouTube video - Counselor Updates: February 2020

Happy New Year from the University of Central Florida.  These are the important updates for the month of January.

We’re excited to welcome more than 400 new First Time In College Students to UCF this spring semester.  Some of these students were admitted as part of last year’s cohort of Top 10 Knights, which guarantees admission to students in the Top 10 percent of their graduating class.  The deadline for students to apply and qualify as a 2020 Top 10 Knight is January 15th for a notification date of March 1st.

Applications for on campus housing are open and admitted students are encouraged to apply now if they’re considering living on campus.  Students DO NOT need to submit their $200 Enrollment Deposit in order to apply for housing, however, a partially refundable fee is due at the time the housing agreement is submitted.  For additional details, visit the Housing & Residence Life website.

Orientation registration for incoming Summer and Fall students will open in early February.  An enrollment deposit is required to sign up for orientation. Information can be found at orientation.ucf.edu.

I’d like to remind you and your students of a change to our business process from last year.  UCF is no longer accepting supplemental information, such as recommendation letters, and essays or resumes that were not submitted with the original application.  Updated credentials, such as transcripts showing first semester senior grades or updated SAT and ACT scores will be accepted, and should be submitted early in the spring term for the admissions committee to review.

And finally, 2020 is already shaping up to be a banner year for UCF.  Applications for summer and fall admission are up 13% over last year and so far, the strength of our applicant pool is — in a word — impressive.  All of us in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions wish you and your students a bright and successful year ahead, and we thank you for your continued support of the university and the work that we do.

Go Knights and Charge On.
