Biography

Bryce Hagedorn’s research centers on addictions counseling, spirituality in counseling, military/first responder counseling, and counselor/program development. He examines clinical and family dynamics in substance use disorders and explores recovery strategies across various populations including military service members and college students.

Hagedorn investigates how counselors can competently integrate spirituality and religion into treatment. His work has shaped spiritual competency frameworks and informed practices around grief, trauma and ethical decision-making in clinical settings.

Hagedorn studies effective training and supervision methods including virtual simulations, motivational interviewing and integrated care models. His research supports the development of skilled behavioral health professionals prepared to meet the needs of complex client populations.
