UCF Online offers two environmental engineering degree options, including the MS and the MSVE Both programs cover a rigorous examination of pollution control, pollution prevention and the correction of pollution effects on natural and man-made environments. Each program is targeted toward students with different undergraduate degree levels, with the Environmental Engineering (MS) requiring students to have completed a Bachelor’s degree in any science or math field, while the Environmental Engineering (MSVE) is for students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Course Requirements

In order to earn your MS or MSVE in Environmental Engineering, you’ll need to complete 30 credit hours of graduate course work.

Number of Core Classes

Students in the Environmental Engineering, MS or MSVE will complete a total of 30 credit hours toward their master’s degree — 12 credit hours toward required courses, 12 credits toward electives, and 6 credits toward either a thesis or non-thesis option.

Courses You’ll Take Include

Explore the theory and design of physical and chemical operations and processes in environmental engineering using latest technologies.

Commence in a critical examination of theories, methods, unit operations of management, reduction, treatment and disposal of industrial wastes.

Water Treatment

Explore potable water regulations and standards as well as chemical reactors, oxidation, disinfection, disinfection by-products and ultraviolet irradiation.

Skills You’ll Gain
