Course Requirements

In order to earn your Executive Doctorate of Nursing Practice, you’ll need to complete up to 42 credit hours of graduate course work. While completing your DNP in Nursing at UCF, you’ll take required courses, electives, and complete a DNP project. This program also requires 1000 post-baccalaureate clinical hours.

DNP Project

The DNP Project is the product of the culminating or comprehensive experience of an independent project that demonstrates application of advanced clinical and evidence-based practice.

DNP Professional Practice Immersion

This program’s DNP clinical requirements are 1000 hours post-baccalaureate. Immersion hours depend upon record review of hours completed at the master’s level.

Courses You’ll Take Include

Engage in the application of innovative technologies in healthcare to research, teaching and practice as well as the legal, ethical and cultural issues related to technology transfer.

Explore the application of evidence-based management processes to support decision making in the health care environment.

Leadership and Economics in Advanced Practice Nursing

Engage in the advanced analysis of change management, leadership theories/strategies, finance and resource management and the health care systems and economic structures in Advanced Practice Nursing.

  • Critically analyze complex clinical situations and practice systems and disseminate findings.
  • Develop practice models that support diagnostic reasoning skills and clinical judgment through the use of the evidence-based practice.
