Minor Admission Requirements

• Students must earn a "B" (3.0) or higher in ACG 3131 Intermediate Financial Accounting I to be eligible for the Accounting Minor.

  • ACG3131 - Intermediate Financial Accounting I (3)
  • ACG3141 - Intermediate Financial Accounting II (3)
  • TAX4001 - Taxation of Business Entities and Transactions (3)

Restricted Electives

• Complete at least 2 of the following:
  • ACG3361 - Cost Accounting I (3)
  • ACG4401C - Accounting Information Systems (3)
  • ACG4651 - Auditing (3)
  • ACG4803 - Advanced Issues in Financial Accounting (3)
  • TAX4022 - Individual Federal Income Tax (3)
  • ACG4840 - Accounting Analytics (3)

Grand Total Credits: 21

Other Requirements

• Students must earn a cumulative grade-point average of 2.75 or better in all coursework used to satisfy the minor.
• Students must earn a minimum 2.0 (C) or better in each individual course used to satisfy the minor.
• Grades below "C" (2.0) or "S" grades from other institutions are not accepted.
• Courses taken at Florida College System institutions do not substitute for upper division courses.
• Courses transferred must be formally evaluated for equivalency credit. The student must provide a course syllabus and any other supporting information with his/her petition for this evaluation.
• At least nine hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the department.
• No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used.
• Internship, Independent Study, or Directed Research credit cannot be used toward the minor.
• For students seeking the accounting minor, only the following courses are permitted to count towards another CBA degree program or minor: ACG 2021, ACG 2071, and ACG 3131.
• Not open to Accounting majors
• The College of Business does not permit any course used towards the minor or those used to meet admission requirements for the minor to be taken on an elective S/U grading basis.
