The Integrated Humanities major is a multidisciplinary program that leads to a BA or BS depending on the specialization selected by a student in coordination with their faculty advisor. The degree is designed for students seeking to consolidate two primary areas of study or specializations, one of which must include selections from the department of Philosophy, which include humanities, philosophy, religion and cultural studies courses. Students can select from various specializations, such as those listed below.
- Human Expression and Thought: This specialization is well suited for students with backgrounds or interested in - applications of arts and creativity, architecture, visual arts, dramatic arts, music, aesthetics, performance theory, cultures and cultural productions and practices, religion and religious traditions, philosophy, interfaith literacy, ethical theory, history of ideas, social theories, and ways of living.
- Being Human in an Age of Technology: This specialization is well suited for students with backgrounds or interested in - AI, applied ethics, ethics of technology, ethics and science, big data, cognitive sciences, data democratization, ethical theory, history of ideas, cultural studies, logic, social theories, digital humanities, and philosophy of science and technology.
- Medical and Environmental Humanities: This specialization is well suited for students with backgrounds or interested in - health and wellness, mental health, health care, medicine, public health, medical ethics, environmental humanities, environmental philosophy, religion and medicine, interfaith literacy, religion and applied ethics, ethical theory.
- Individualized Pathway: See the program coordinator to discuss your areas of interest and design a program of study.
Students in the major will work with faculty advisors to make course selections in one of the defined specializations or tailor their individualized pathway.

- Students who change degree programs and select this major must adopt the most current catalog.
- Students may be eligible to complete this program as a double major, double degree, or second degree with approval from the program coordinator.
- A minimum of "C" (2.0) or better in each course used for the major.
- Students should regularly consult with their faculty advisor and their assigned CAHSA Coach.
- Courses designated in General Education Program are usually completed in the first 60 hours.
- Co-op or internship credit cannot be used in this major without prior departmental approval.

- Earn at least 3 credits from the following types of courses: A previously completed cornerstone experience may be approved by the program coordinator.

- Additional credits may be required to meet the 120 hour requirement. Specifically, upper level elective courses may be required to meet the 42 hour requirement. Work with your Program Coordinator and Academic Success Coach to ensure you meet all university hours requirements.
Foreign Language Requirements
Admissions
- Met by graduation requirement.
Graduation
- Proficiency equivalent to one year of college instruction in a foreign language taught by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures or the Department of History (Hebrew). Standardized examinations for foreign languages may be used to meet the requirement. Majors who are contemplating graduate school should complete two years of a foreign language, preferably one functional in their area of proposed graduate interest.

- Students must achieve a "C" (2.0) GPA in the major.
- To avoid delaying graduation, you must request a review of requirements prior to registering for your last term.
University Minimum Exit Requirements
- A 2.0 UCF GPA
- 42 semester hours of upper division credit completed.
- 30 of the last 39 hours of course work must be completed in residency at UCF.
- A maximum of 45 hours of extension, correspondence, CLEP, Credit by Exam, and Armed Forces credits permitted.
- Complete the General Education Program, the State Writing and Math Requirement, and nine hours of Summer credit.
