Undergraduate Research Undergraduate Certificate

The Undergraduate Research Certificate is a 12-credit certificate program designed to recognize undergraduate students in any discipline for pursuing meaningful research experiences, as reflected through their academic coursework.

The certificate program in Undergraduate Research is designed for students in any discipline who seek to engage in academic inquiry or investigation with the goal of making an original contribution to the discipline. Undergraduate research furthers the learning objectives of the academic course, allows students to delve into cutting-edge questions in their field, and further develops skills such as deep thinking, active learning, and independent work. This certificate is open to all UCF undergraduate students in any major.

Degree Requirements

• Earn at least 12 credits from the following types of courses: Courses designated as Research Intensive -AND/OR - Honors Undergraduate Thesis Courses (4903H, 4904H, 4970H, 4971H) - AND/OR - Directed Independent Research (XXX4912) - AND/OR relevant research intensive courses approved for substitution by college
