CECS FinTech Undergraduate Certificate

Open to College of Engineering and Computer Science students and students who meet the prerequisites.

Program participants will acquire specific knowledge of FinTech to meet the growing demands for such services.

Certificates will be awarded only at the time of degree completion.

Certificate Requirements

• A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in all courses used to satisfy the certificate.
• Students must have already taken (or are about to complete) the first two Computer Science courses (COP 3223C/3223H or EGN 3211 and COP3502C/3502H).
• B or better in FIN 3403 or FIN 3403H (Business Finance).
• CECS students are eligible for admission into FIN 3403H offered in Fall semester, with department approval.
• Pre-requisites are waived for FIN 3403/3403H for CECS students.

Degree Requirements

Required Courses

• Complete all of the following
  • For COP 3502H, 3223H and FIN 3403H, honors sections of the respective courses will be accepted.
  • All classes are 3 credit hour classes.
  • Complete at least 1 of the following:
    • COP3223C - Introduction to Programming with C (3)
    • EGN3211 - Engineering Analysis and Computation (3)
  • Complete the following:
    • COP3502C - Computer Science I (3)
    • FIN3403 - Business Finance (3)
    • FIN4450 - Foundations of FinTech (3)
    • FIN4451 - FinTech for Decision Makers (3)

Other Requirements

• Complete all of the following
  • Enrollment for the FinTech Certificate is by application only. CECS studentsmust obtain the Department of Finance permission to enroll for the Certificate.
  • All 15 hours used in the Certificate must be earned at UCF within the respective Colleges and Departments.
